Rex Sole has set out to redefine the face of rock music over the last five years. The band was born in Long Beach, Washington, when Evan Walters and brother Lucas decided to combine their love for rock and their exceptional musical skills to create a band.

As the band evolved over the years, so did its musicians. The band has now cemented a rock-solid foundation with five members: Evan Walters on lead vocals, brother Lucas on guitar and backup vocals, Jeremie Murfin on guitar and backup vocals, Jarrod Karnofski on bass and Jason Heine on drums.

Rex Sole has recorded and released three albums, Category V (1998), Rex Sole (2001), and Sole with Bone (2003). Their most recent release, Sole With Bone has received spectacular acclaim, selling over 100 copies in the first week of sales alone. The band is always a crowd favorite, and has built a reputation for powerful, fun, high-energy shows. In turn, they have generated an ever-growing and loyal fan base in Oregon and Washington.

Throughout the year, they maintain a packed roster of touring gigs at local bars, small arenas, and outdoor festivals, including Roc's Bar and Grill, the Meow Meow, Paris Theater, and the DV-8.

The music of Rex Sole pulls from both modern and classic rock influences in the hard rock, pop, and alternative genres. The end result is a mixture of straight forward, high energy heavy rock, that becomes unique with a strong lyrical base and innovative phrasing. Rex Sole claims the music to be a reflection of our generation, and a means for bringing rock back to the people. As an answer to the glam rock of the eighties and the excess-encouraging pop and rap of the late nineties, the songs are instead from the perspective of the 21st century everyman who grapples with society, relationships, and the struggle for individuality. Throughout each song, however, is the tone of optimism and triumph.

Rex Sole members are each outstanding musicians in their own right, four of which attended Pacific University on music scholarships. Each of the members share their craft with others through lessons and seminars, and each member regularly sits in with noted bands, symphonies, and orchestras around the area.

The continued success of their new album, Sole With Bone, is setting the course for a spectacular future in the music industry. Rex Sole plans to continue pleasing crowds and delighting fans throughout the Northwest, and wants to continue to blaze a new trail in rock.
